Senior Pastor

Full-Time with Competitive Pay

The senior pastor is the spiritual leader of the church. He is responsible for providing guidance and pastoral care to the congregation, as well as overseeing the overall direction and growth of the ministry.  He is to be engaged in pastoral
care, provide supervisory and administrative leadership in all areas of congregational care
including paid and volunteer staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be licensed and ordained.
  • Master's Degree from Baptist Seminary.
  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus and display  integrity, passion, vision, humility, fiscal responsibility and excellent communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and deliver sermons. 
  • Lead the church in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating all church programs and ministries.
  • Cooperate with the local association, state convention, and National Baptist Convention leadership in matters of mutual interest and concerns.
  • Represent the church in civic organizations and events.
  • Work with Administrative Council and committees as they perform assigned responsibilities.
  • Serve as administrator of paid church staff and supervise volunteers.

Ministry Assistant

Full-Time with Competitive Pay

The Ministry Assistant is responsible for facilitating efficient ministry and communication within First Baptist Church of Walterboro. Serving as a personal assistant and office receptionist, the Ministry Assistant utilizes their skills to benefit the church and carry out the ministry objectives of the staff to the members of the church and the community.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Be a professing Christian and actively involved member of a local church
  • Possess a high school diploma; additional training or higher education preferred
  • Be proficient in standard office software and equipment
  • Manage priorities and be skilled in professional communication
  • Possess capability to learn and adapt to new systems and software platforms
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be proactive and available to assist and support the Pastor(s) in achieving ministry goals
  • Assist in management of daily administrative tasks to enable the church to operate efficiently
  • Organize all information effectively
  • Maintain orderly records, documents,  and files within the office's database(s)
  • Perform other related duties when necessary
